Travel: Sunday in Kent

Today’s rest day included a lovely lunch at Stu and Fritha’s place with Reuben and Lizzy. Then an expedition to Chartwell the former home of Winston Churchill. The house and painting studio were closed for winter but we walked the gardens. Then we popped into two Westerham Pubs, the Royal Oak at Crockham Hill and The Carpenters Arms at Limpsfield Chart. The Royal Oak only had a guest cask on , Adnams Southwold Bitter but did have pickled eggs and a roaring fire. The Carpenters had a good range of Westerham beers. The 1965 Special Bitter was outstanding.
Have just finished a fantastic meal of vegetarian riceless kedgeree that Stu knocked up matched to xeRRex . Tomorrow I brew with Reubin at Gorgeous Brewery.
